Pottery for me is an extension of my art: working with faces which encompasses my experience painting portraiture and make-up artistry ,
My face series evolved from training at ceramic college. I discovered I loved sculpting with clay, rather than using a wheel, resulting in unique one off pieces.
The sculptures are formed from one block of clay, massaged and kneaded into shape.
The pieces are either unglazed and twice fired or finished with a matte glaze, giving a more primal natural aesthetic.
They can be displayed inside or out.
